The Diversity Ambassador’s Toolkit sensitizes staff members, especially those in administration, to aspects that might be experienced as discriminatory or marginalizing by LGBTQIA+ learners in everyday learning contexts. With this awareness, they are empowered to take proactive action at institutional levels. The Toolkit provides staff members with the knowledge and skills to advocate for diversity-sensitive practices internally. From motivating staff to addressing learner needs to conduct internal training sessions, staff members learn to create discrimination-sensitive environments and implement lasting policies that support LGBTQIA+ learners. Increased awareness of discrimination and biases among educators will not only make people feel more welcome, but also lead to a reduction in learner dropout rates due to prevention of discriminatory practices. Furthermore, organizations will be enabled to fulfil their multiplier role in demonstrating democratic values on a societal level. Through their actions and inclusive practices, organizations contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive society.
